DVD 1
Ttitled
VOLIMINAL, features a 90-minute film, created and
directed by M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown,
that gives the Slipknot fan a window into the world
of the band as seen through the mind of its creator.
The film was shot on hand-held cameras and, as a
result, is brutally honest and visually unique. The
sound and visual edits are intense, disturbing and
jarring while the cinematography brings the viewer
as close as one can get to the band. Buried in Disc
1 are nine different "rabbit holes," that,
when activated, will show a short vignette of each
one of the nine members of the band. Not the typical
extra footage often found as "easter eggs" on
the average DVD, this footage contains some of the
most surprising and revealing elements on the DVD.
DVD 2
features three main
elements - live footage, music videos and interviews
with each member of the band. The live shows were
captured at various venues around the world and show
Slipknot in unique and somewhat unconventional settings.
Everything from outdoor and daytime shows all the
way to television award-show performances are included
as are the celebrated music videos for "Duality", "Vermilion," "Before
I Forget," "The Nameless," and the controversial
video for "Vermilion 2," which was never
officially released. Additionally, for the first time
ever, fans get an up-close look at the band's "Death
Masks" used onstage during this tour.

Voliminal: Inside The Nine
www.Slipknot1.com
Just
when many have disregarded Slipknot as just another flash
in the metal frying pan the nine piece Iowans return to put
waste to all no-believers. Voliminal: Inside The Nine is
a pure masterpiece in film directing that shows that Shawn
Crane (aka Clown) can do much more then just pound on a keg
like so many have claimed. This visual assault takes the
viewer deep into the realm of a band that has so much mystic
and dedication it’s now proven beyond a doubt that
they are a band not to be dismissed.
You will be taken on a journey deep into the touring world
of Slipknot that was captured over the course of 2 years
of gut wrenching confining worlds of the road.
Not your run of the mill music
DVD by any means, director Shawn C. spent many of long
hours sifting thru hundreds of hours of handheld video
footage trying to give fans the inside look they have craved.
More in the vein of a art film, "Voliminal: Inside The
Nine” is
vicious, unedited, and at times just plain intoxicating
showing a side of this Iowa band that many have yet to
see.
Easily the prize of this package is the separate interviews
conducted with each member. This footage shows the human
side to these members that will give fans and haters a whole
new respect for Slipknot. Interviews include a killer segment
with bassist Paul and DJ Sid showing such a human side to
them yet seen in the media.
In all “Voliminal: Inside The
Nine” is a graphic
assault on the eye that will give a new respect to Slipknot.
Kudos’ go out to S. Crane for choosing to ignore the
norm and give fans and maggots a real look inside the world
of one of our generations most experimental and dangerous
bands to ever grace the airwaves and video music channels. |
