Jackass
fever is hitting everywhere. With the new jackass movie out,
and now the newest CKY, fans of hilarious acts of stupidity
and great music will be very pleased. Everything that made
CKY's first effort "Volume 1" so much fun is here, except
this time, there is more of it.
"Escape
From Hellview" starts off the intensity with a slow buildup
of perfectly placed beats and lyrics. Their unique distortion
can be easily identified, instantly making a listener recognize
a CKY song over others. Lyrics flow smoothly within every
song and never seem to be detached from the music. The music
runs through your veins, inducing an adrenaline rush during
heavy melodies, and comforts during the more slow paced rhythms.
The rare trait CKY has is the ability to pump aggression through
music that really isn't that heavy. Each chorus and riff is
simple enough to follow; each lyric is mixed with digital
effects superbly, and the final product is a standout CD worthy
to be in any CD collection. The CD is a tribute to older style
rock, but with plenty of fresh new ideas.
Having
the CD on major label Island Records should do wonders for
the sales of the album. I would be very shocked and disappointed
if this album doesn't do well. Definitely pick this one up.
