Got this in the mail and thought to myself. Hopefully the band name holds up its end of the bargain. I just got an EP to review, so I don't get the whole experience of Gryp just in 5 songs worth .I'll review them through this and hopefully don't get misguided just because it being 5 songs.

This EP starts off with a very catchy techno/metal/hardcore Orgy sound, with rusty vocals in the track "Left Behind". This could be a great radio single, but has too much of what is already out there sound. For some reason this song sticks in my head, I don't know if this is good or bad?

The more I listen, the more I don't like this CD. Seems there is alot of a Marilyn Manson influence and maybe a Nine Inch Nails techno/rock feel to it. The lead singers voice definitely has a Manson sound to it, even when he hits the highs and lows it sounds like Manson. I even do hear a hint of Chino from the Deftones in this at times, but not a good Chino.

On the other hand, there are some really catchy songs such as "Left Behind" and "Change My Name". Those two songs are definitely the highlight of the EP and hopefully there is more to come when the full release hits. The weird thing about this EP is they finish it off with a weird instrumental track called "Airlock". Almost a Chemical Brothers sound with drums, very weird but cool!

I definitely don't hate this EP, but I would like to hear the whole album to get a better feel. That's why I gave it a low score.
