Jimi
HaHa's back and still easily kicking out his quirky jams only
with a whole new slew of musicians this time around. Re.Present
brings Jimmie's Chicken Shack into a much more rock orientated
vibe giving the album a more focused feeling then past efforts.
Sure the humor and blender mixed variations of diverse music
is still prevalent but Jimmie's Chicken Shack has grown musically
into a much more rock driven act. For starters, the first
track "Falling Out" features backing vocals from Stainds Aaron
Lewis and leans heavily towards a more serious groove then
Jimmie's Chicken Shack have been known for in the past. In
whole, Re.Present has a much less comical groove then past
efforts of Jimmie Ha Ha's and easily treads deep into the
grunge influences that are so very apparent. This album easily
rocks hard with its low-fi production and gritty guitar licks
adding that extra punch to Jimmies already memorably catchy
vocals. In their career Jimmie's Chicken Shack has released
a few very solid songs but unlike past albums none have ever
flowed like Re.Present so easily does. To find an album that
keeps the listeners attention from beginning to end is a hard
find but when it comes from such an unlikely avenue as Jimmie's
Chicken Shack there might be some hope after all in the struggling
rock industry.
