Killswitch Engage newest release As Daylight Dies picks up where The End of Heartache left off, on a heavy note. Daylight Dies starts off the album full of brutal riffs and pounding drums, which go hand in hand with Howard Jones's screams as well as melodic voice. Even with the heaviness of many songs they still calm things down with The Arms of Sorrow, showing a slower melodic side of the band, which is a perfect song for sing-a-longs during shows. As Daylight Dies does not fail to impress and any KSE fan will love it.

Adam Dutkiewicz is back behind the board (as well as a guitarist in the band) producing this album and he gets better every album. I feel As Daylight Dies sounds much clearer than previous releases and that brings the level another notch up in the quality department. Killswitch Engage are a bunch of guys having fun and that's what it is all about. They bring these songs to life with their live shows and will keep you in stitches from laughter or from crazy mosh pits.

As Daylight Dies was re-released as well with bonus tracks, most notably a cover of Holy Diver originally by Dio. They totally make Holy Diver their own with their version and that makes a great way to end the album.
