The Lost Prophets remastered thefakesoundofprogress off Columbia Records brings out a surprise with one of the better rock cds of late 2001. Despite having to compete against the exploding success of Linkin Park at the time, Lost Prophets have gained a good amount of success on their own with their astounding style and musical talent. The talent comes from the mix of hardcore influences, catchy riff work, and great lyrical work that is somewhat tagged in an incubus style because the singer is able to actually sing. Lost Prophets are unique in their own way, and in spite of being tagged as sounding like other bands you may have heard before, you have never heard a CD like this.

Not too heavy, not too soft, a wonderful listening experience no matter how you approach it. Picking up on some of the riffs, I noticed a back and forth note style which really sounds great. Some songs that used this were "Awkward", "Shinobi vs. Dragon Ninja" and "Kobrakai". If you listen to the main chorus guitar lines, you'll hear what I'm talking about. It's a wonderful excuse to let you thrash around to the music. It's very useable in mainstream radio because of its melodic sound, which is great since most mainstream music is horrible and unoriginal.

Support these guys. Go to their shows and buy their cd. It's well worth it.
