B
is for B-sides is comprised of the tracks that didn’t
make Less Than Jakes’ not-so-much-ska-but-more-pop-punk
release Anthem, which seemed to alienate some of their these-guys-are-so-ska
fans who wanted their prominent horn section. The tracks
from B is for B-sides seem to be the missing bride between
Less Than Jakes’ usual horn heavy sound and their
newer material found on Anthem.
A
short album (under a half hour) warrants a short review
so, if your pressed for time, check out Portrait of a Cigarette
Smoker, Last Rites To Sleepless Nights, and Bridge and Tunnel
Authority, I don’t know if this half album is worth
its full sticker price, but its certainly worth a listen.
