Minus Driver's Ep A Message for You is not bad, its actually pretty good, but it's just nothing new. The most obvious thing on A Message for You is that Jordan William's voice is really similar to Brandon Boyd from Incubus. In fact, Minus driver seems to sound really similar to Incubus circa S.C.I.E.N.C.E. Although, back in the day, people accused Incubus of simply sounding like Faith No More. A Message for You, despite whomever Minus Driver owes their influence to, is worth a listen. While Real Life and Inhuman seem to be of an alternative-metal-jazz persuasion, Lie to You has a heavier Deftones-type chaotic almost discord sound. Since the EP is only a preview of what is too come, hopefully Minus Driver can move towards defining their sound and reach beyond the Incubus-clone label. A Message For You is a good start and these Atlantian's are surely capable of breaking away in their own direction.
