Nebula has mastered the art of classic
psychedelic rock. With Apollo, They revive 60-70’s
classic rock and punk to near perfection, styles that have
long been missed. Each time Apollo is played, you can feel
time warp, back to the days of stoner/space rock’s
prime. It’s hard to imagine the album was made in
2006, yet it doesn’t feel dated and overdone at all.
Apollo could be the soundtrack to any Vietnam movie or
documentary from now on. The music is a perfect change
of pace from the major label punk music of today.
Vocalist/Guitarist Eddie Glass keeps the riffs simple,
but shows masterful leads when needed. The production could
have used a bit more polish, but the rough sound they kept
fits the music, and further pushes the classic rock vibe.
The best songs include “The Alchemist”, “Loose
Cannon”, and “Lightbringer”.
Fans of Fu Manchu and classic rock should give Nebula
a listen. It may even surprise your old man.
